The market was active with Indonesian material very much in demand at the start of the week. A Singapore-based trader was understood to be bidding at $48.00/t FOB, basis 3,700 kc NAR, and at $49.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for June loading geared vessels. Bids were even heard for low-rank material at $51.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a Panamax loading in May, while an offer for similar grade coal emerged at $54.00/t FOB, same basis, for a Panamax loading in June, a source from a key Indonesian supplier shared. An offer was also reported at $51.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a late July loading Panamax. For geared vessels, a bid for a June loading cargo was reported at $48.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR.
Paper
M42 traded at $49.50, $49.75 and $50.25 for May, continuing on from where is last traded on Friday at $49.50. During the day M42 was bid at $46.00 for April and offered at $49.00, while May was bid at $49.50 and offered at $50.40. June was bid at $47.50 and offered at $48.85, with July bid at $45.20 and offered $47.85. For Q2-21, a bid was reported at $47.40 against an offer at $49.45. A spread for April vs May was bid at minus $4.50 and offered at $0.00. Further out, May vs June was bid at plus $0.50 and offered at plus $2.20. June vs July was bid at plus $1.00 and offered at plus $2.00.
