Physical

Activity picked up a little in the Asian thermal markets, after the hiatus in the past few days which followed China's escalation of import restrictions through early November. Bids and offers, however, have emerged again as participants are beginning to feel that the market has stabilised somewhat. Offers for low-rank material were reported at $33.50-33.75/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for December loading geared vessels. Bidding indications were heard at $31.00-32.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, though these were not firm.

 

Paper

M42 paper traded on SGX at $33.50 for 10,000 t for December, moderately higher than the last December deal last week done at $33.45. December was later bid at $33.30 and offered at $33.90. Meanwhile, January was bid at $33.05 and offered at $33.70, with February bid at $33.25 and offered at $33.85. March was bid at $33.55 and offered at $33.85.
