Indonesian coal prices rose modestly on the week despite supply constraints caused by extreme weather in the country's Kalimantan region over the past fortnight. Traded levels grew week on week to $37.00-37.25/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a July loading Panamax, compared with $36.00-36.50/t FOB, same basis. A geared vessel loading in July transacted midweek at $36.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR. However, towards the end of the week, details of several trades emerged at $36.00-36.10/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for July loading geared vessels. Bids for similar grade material were then heard at as low as $35.50-35.75/t FOB basis 3,800 kc NAR, for July loading geared vessels, against offers at $36.00-37.00/t FOB, same basis.
Paper
M42, as listed on SGX, traded for July at $36.25 and later at $36.15. Markets were seen bid at $35.70, against an offer of $36.25 for June, bid at $35.60, against an offer at $36.40 for July, and for the August contract, bid at $35.00, against an offer at $36.35. (ends)
