Asia's thermal coal markets were relatively quiet with activity tapering off ahead of the Christmas break. For Indonesian low-rank, a Panamax loading from East Kalimantan was understood to have transacted over the weekend at $34.75/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for January loading. For the same loading month, a geared vessel was also bought over the weekend at $33.75/t FOB, basis 4,200 kc GAR, for loading in January from South Kalimantan. An offer was reported at $34.00/t FOB, basis 4,200 kc GAR, for a January loading geared vessel.
Paper
Paper activity slowed as the market moves towards the holiday season. M42 paper, listed on SGX, was bid for January at $33.80 and offered at $34.00, while February was bid at $32.95 and offered at $34.15.
