Offers for Indonesian material were mainly heard from traders as key Indonesian suppliers said they were close to sold out for spot tonnage in April. A Jakarta-based trader said that buying sentiment has improved for the week so far with bids heard at higher levels on the week. For low-rank, a deal was heard done at $38.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a March loading geared vessel, a level where a bid was heard the previous day. A bid was also heard for an April loading geared vessel at $40.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR. Deals for Panamaxes were reported done at $38.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for March loading, and $40.15/t FOB, same basis, for late March, early April loading, and $41.50/t FOB, same basis, for April loading. Bids was also heard at $39.00-42.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for an April loading Panamax.
Paper
M42 traded at $40.25 for April in the morning session, which is up on its last transaction level of $37.75 last week. May also traded higher at $41.70, while June transacted at $41.00. During the day, March was heard bid at $37.65 and offered at $38.25, while April was bid at $40.50 and offered at $41.00. May was bid at $40.75 and offered $42.25, and June was heard bid at $40.75 and offered at $42.50. A spread for April vs May was heard bid at M42 minus $1.50 and offered at M42 minus $0.75.
