Suppliers were understood to be taking a cautious stand with regards where second half of the year prices go, seemingly keen to hold offers at levels reported before the recent Coaltrans Conference in Bali. Buyers, however, were largely anticipating weaker prices in the near term. For low-rank material, offers were heard at $36.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a July loading geared vessel, although the last reported deal remains at $35.80/t FOB, same basis. A Panamax was also confirmed done earlier in the week at $36.80/t, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for July loading.
Paper
M42 paper, listed on SGX, was bid at $35.25 and offered at $36.20 for June. July was bid at $35.00 and offered at $36.25, while August was bid at $34.90 and offered at $36.20. (ends)
