Coal suppliers in Indonesia are understood to be offering at higher levels on the week as some loading difficulties have emerged owing to violent seas, which could be contributing to the uptick in traded levels. The dry season has also caused several unsold shipments of coal to burn at stockpiles and while loading, it was heard. Low c.v. coal traded at $31.60/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a geared vessel loading in September, firming up from levels seen in the last week. An offer was also heard at $32.35/t FAS (Free Alongside Ship), basis 4,100 kc GAR, for a September loading cargo.
Paper
M42 paper, listed on SGX, traded for September at $31.30 for 15,000 t and then $31.40 for a further 5,000 t, up on its last traded level of $31.20 last week. Later, September was heard bid at $31.00 and offered at $31.60, with October bid at $30.95 and offered at $31.55, while November was bid at $30.75 and offered at $31.65. A market for Q4-19 was bid at $30.60 and offered at $31.65. Further out, Q1-20 was bid at $33.40 and offered at $34.15. (ends)
