Some bidding activity for Indonesian coal emerged in the market today after a brief lull. A key low-rank supplier said that Chinese utilities have placed bids for May-July deliveries on an index basis, while a trader was also heard to have bid for May loading material at $28.75/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc GAR. "We are in no rush to offer. Traders have asked the past two days for additional April loading cargo but we are sold out," the supplier elaborated. A trade was said to have been done at $37.25/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR for April loading Panamax on Tuesday. Meanwhile, another trade was done at $36.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR for a very prompt loading geared vessel. A bid was reported at $36.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for an April loading geared vessel, while offering interest was said to be around $1.00/t higher.
Paper
Paper prices were little changed today in Asian trading hours. M42 paper, as listed on SGX, for April was valued at around $36.50/t while May was pegged at $36.25-36.50/t. (ends)
