Indonesian material remains in demand from Chinese buyers, although the number of enquiries was said to have stabilised. For low-rank, a trade was heard out of East Kalimantan at $54.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a May loading Panamax, while another deal was said to have been done at $52.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a geared vessel loading in May, although this could not be confirmed at the time of writing. Other than this, offers were reported at $53.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a May loading geared vessel, while a Panamax loading in the same month was offered at $54.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR.

M42 traded at $50.25-52.50 for May, surpassing where it traded the previous day at $51.00-51.50. June traded at $50.75, which is up on Wednesday's traded level of $49.50. August also traded at $47.25 in record volume for a single deal of 70,000 t. During the day, M42 was bid at $47.50 for April and offered at $48.50, while May was bid at $51.75 and offered at $53.00. A bid for June was bid at $48.50 and offered at $52.50, with July bid at $46.25 and offered at $51.75, while August was bid at $46.50 and offered at $47.50. A spread for May vs June was bid at M42 plus $1.35 and offered at plus $2.25. June vs July was bid at plus $0.75 and offered at plus $2.25.
