Physical
Market activity from Indonesia was as light as predicted with the country on holiday, with only a scattering of bids and offers reported. There were unconfirmed reports of a Panamax trading at around $37.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for June loading, although details were scarce. For lower c.v. material, a bid was reported at $28.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc GAR, for a June loading geared vessel.
Paper
Paper prices softened in Asian trading hours. M42 paper, as listed on SGX, traded higher at $35.45/t and then $35.40/t for June. This is up on the last June trade level of $35.25/t last week. Following the trades, June was bid at $35.00/t and offered at $35.45/t, while July was bid at $35.00/t and offered at $36.20/t. A spread for June/July was bid at minus $0.75/t and offered at plus $0.20/t. June 2019 has now become the single largest traded month since M42 launched in April 2018 topping 120,000 t, and representing a solid landmark in the products acceptance and growth. (ends)
