Soft demand weighed on the Asian thermal markets, though rain in Indonesia was said to be tightening supply. For low-rank, bids were reported at $33.00-33.45/t FOB, against an offer at $34.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for April loading geared vessels.
Paper
M42 paper, as listed on SGX, traded three times for a total of 30,000 t. All were for March done at $34.15, first for 5,000 t, then 15,000 t and then a further 10,000 t in the evening session. Earlier in the day, March was bid at $34.00 and offered at $34.65. Further out, April was bid at $33.75 and offered at $34.25, while May was bid at $33.50 and offered at $34.40.
