Prices continued to firm, with miners said to have little, if any, April cargoes left to offer to the spot market, although there were a few cargoes still being offered by traders. Low-rank material was heard offered at $48.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a May loading Panamax. For geared vessels, offers were said to be at around $46.00-47.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for April loading. A May loading geared vessel was heard offered at $45.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR. A geared vessel loading in June was bid at $42.50-43.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, against an offer at $44.75-45.00/t FOB, same basis.

M42 traded for June at $43.50, $44.00 and $44.50, which is up on where it last traded yesterday at $42.50. April also traded at $44.50. During the day, May was bid at $43.50 and offered $45.50, and June was heard bid at $43.00 and offered at $43.75. Further out, a bid for Q3-21 was reported at $36.00 while Q4-21 was bid at $35.00. A spread for April vs May was heard bid at M42 minus $0.80, and offered at flat $0.00, while May vs June was bid at minus $0.50.
