A trade was reported from earlier in the week at $37.60/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a June loading geared vessel. However, later offers were heard down at $37.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for June loading geared vessels, with bids understood to be back at around $36.00/t FOB, same basis. An offer was also reported at $38.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a June loading Panamax and $37.75/t FOB, same basis, for one loading in July. On an index-linked basis, a Panamax of 4,200 kc GAR material traded at an average of M42/ICI4 plus $0.75/t for June loading.
Paper
Prompt paper prices weakened in Asian trading hours, with Newcastle, API4 and M42 all trading lower. M42 paper, as listed on SGX, traded lower, first at $35.90/t and then $35.25/t for June. This is down on its last traded level for June of $36.70/t on Tuesday. Following the trades, June was bid at $34.80/t and offered at $35.95/t, while July was bid at $34.95/t and offered at $36.00/t. Further out, Q3 2019 was bid at $35.75/t, and offered at $36.00/t. A spread for June/July was bid at minus $0.50/t and offered at plus $0.10/t. (ends)
