Asian thermal markets were relatively steady today as China prepares to go on holiday for Golden Week. Indonesian low-rank prices were also said to be steady, although no firm prices were reported, with prices holding at levels close to those reported last week.
Paper
M42, listed on SGX, traded at $33.30 for 10,000 t, for October, which is moderately higher than where it traded last week at $33.25. Following the deal, October was bid at $33.00 and offered at $33.40, while November was bid at $33.00 and offered at $33.65 and December was bid at $33.00 and offered at $34.50. Further out, Q1-20 was bid at $34.30 and offered at $34.80. More than 0.50 mt of M42 traded in the third quarter of 2019, a record quarterly high for the contract, almost doubling the previous quarterly record of 0.26 mt in Q3 2018. (ends)
