Trading activity for Indonesian coal slowed this week as the market was thrown into uncertainty by the coronavirus outbreak in China. A market for low c.v. material was bid at $35.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, against an offer at $37.00/t FOB, same basis, both for geared vessels. Last week, February loading geared vessels traded at $35.00-35.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR. Further out in March, offers emerged at $35.65-36.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for geared vessels, against bids at $34.00-34.45/t FOB, same basis.
Paper
M42, as transacted via SGX, traded multiple times over the week in contrast with the light physical activity. February traded at $34.80-35.25/t for 55,000 t, with prices descending in value. March traded at $34.70-35.35/t, also in a descending trend, for a total of 10,000 t.
