Pockets of Indonesian trading activity were seen despite a generally quiet week, with China on holiday. Low-rank coal traded at $33.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for an October and November loading geared vessels, firming slightly from $32.80-32.90/t FOB, same basis, last week. Details emerged of another trade heard concluded at $32.50/t FOB, basis 4,100 kc GAR, for an October loading geared vessel, though this could not be confirmed. On an index-linked basis, a trade settled at M42/ICI4 +$0.25/t, basis 4,200 kc GAR, for an October/November loading geared vessel.
Paper
M42 traded via SGX this week at $33.30 for October, up on the week from $32.85-33.25. Fair value for the Q4-19 contract was $33.48, up from traded levels of $33.25 last week. The Q1-2020 contract averaged at $34.50, down from traded levels of $34.85 a week back.
