Asian thermal markets remained lacklustre, awaiting the return of Chinese participants on Thursday from a five-day holiday. Prompt tightness continues for Indonesian supply, keeping front month prices high. Low-rank was heard bid at $51.00/t FOB, basis 4,200 kc GAR, for a May loading geared vessel. An offer was reported at $55.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a late May, early June loading geared vessel. A June loading geared vessel was offered at $52.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR.

During the day M42 was bid at $51.00 for May and offered at $54.00, while June was bid at $50.00 and offered $53.50. July was offered at $51.25. A spread for June vs July was bid at M42 plus $1.70, while July vs August was bid at plus $0.50 and offered at plus $2.25, and August vs September was also bid at plus $0.50 and offered at plus $2.00.
