Physical 

Indonesian thermal coal prices fell sharply on the week as demand from China and India remains sluggish, with both well-stocked. However, numerous trades were still reported at between $35.25-35.75/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a July loading geared vessels. Offers were heard at $36.00-36.50/t and $37.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for geared and Panamax vessels respectively. Last week, offers for July loading material were heard at $37.75-38.00/t and $37.75-38.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for geared and Panamax vessels respectively. June loading material was heard bid at $34.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a geared vessel against offers at $36.00-36.50/t FOB, same basis. This is significantly lower than levels heard last week where offers emerged at $38.00-39.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, against a bid at $38.00/t FOB, basis 4,200 kc GAR.

 

Paper

A flurry of trades went through for M42, as listed on SGX, at $35.40-35.50/t through the week before firming to $36.00/t later on. This marked a slight lift from the week prior when June first traded at $35.90/t, before settling at $35.25/t by the end of the week. Further out Q3 2019 was bid at $35.00/t And offered at $36.60/t.
