Indonesian business was limited, but some participants said they believed the market was still ticking higher, although without trades it was difficult to quantify. From the Chinese side, one trader was valuing low-rank at $37.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for prompt loading geared vessels. An offer was reported at $38.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a May loading geared vessel. An offer was heard at $39.00/t FOB, basis 4,200 kc GAR, for a June loading geared vessel. Another offer was reported at $38.50/t FOB, basis 3,700 kc NAR, for a Panamax loading in late April.
Paper
M42, as listed on SGX, was bid at $37.00/t for April and offered at $38.00/t. May was bid at $36.75/t against an offer at $38.10/t, while June was bid at $36.30/t and offered at $38.10/t. Further out, M42 for Q3 2019 was bid at $35.50/t and offered at $38.50/t, while Q4 2019 was bid at $35.75/t and offered at $38.50/t. (ends)
