Shell begins construction of lubricant manufacturing facility

In a bid to further strengthen its position in the Indonesian lubricant market, Shell started the construction of its lubricant manufacturing facility in Marunda, North Jakarta.
The company held a ground-breaking ceremony on Tuesday, which was attended among others by Minister of Industry MS Hidayat, Shell Global Commercial Executive Vice President Mark Gainsborough, and President Director of Shell Indonesia Darwin Silalahi, the company said in a statement obtained Tuesday.
The manufacturing plant, located on a 75,000 sqm area at the Marunda Center, will have an annual production capacity of 120,000 tons, producing various types of high quality lubricants for the consumers, industrial, transportation, and marine markets.
