Shell completes joint study

Energy giant Royal Dutch/Shell has completed joint study on two offshore blocks in Timor Sea and has indicated that it will be bidding for at least one of the blocks which will be tendered through direct offer mechanism, an official with ministry of energy said.

Head of Working Area sub-Directorate Yunan Muzafar told Petromindo.Com on Wednesday that Shell has completed joint study on West Timor Sea and South Moa blocks, both are located near Inpex?s Abadi gas field.

Muzafar said that Shell has confirmed that it will be bidding for South Moa block and is currently evaluating the prospectivity of West Timor block.

Under the direct offer mechanism, Shell which carried out the joint study, will have first right to win the exploration blocks should the government decides to put the said blocks under bidding.
