PT Shell Indonesia, an Indonesian unit of Anglo-Dutch energy firm Royal Dutch/ Shell Plc, has again raised the prices of its high-octane gasoline following a similar move made by state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina, Kontan reported Tuesday.
Effective Dec. 2, the prices of Shell Super and Shell Super Extra have been raised to Rp 7,500 and Rp 7,900 per liter from Rp 6,950 and Rp 7,350, respectively. The price of Shell Diesel has increased to Rp 7,800 per liter from Rp 7,150 per liter.
In determining the retail prices of its high-octane gasoline, Shell uses the Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS) price index which has persistently increased during the past several weeks due to an increase in the prices of crude oil in the world market. (*)
