Shell Indonesia has introduced Shell MIDEL, a new range of transformer fluids designed for the electrical power sector. The high-performance product is engineered to enhance safety, improve fire resistance, and offer biodegradability, making it a significant addition to Shell's energy efficiency solutions for business-to-business (B2B) applications.

Shell MIDEL can be used across various electrical networks, including power and distribution transformers, renewable energy systems, railways, mining, and other industrial sectors. The fluid is formulated with ester technology, offering superior performance compared to conventional transformer oils, Shell Indonesia said in a release.

The new product is part of Shell's commitment to providing reliable, high-performance transformer fluids. Shell MIDEL offers several advantages, including a high fire point above 300°C, fire safety certification (FM Global and UL), and enhanced environmental protection. It is also readily biodegradable, ensuring minimal environmental impact in the event of leakage.

Farista A. Kusuma, Vice President of Technical Lubricants at Shell Indonesia, emphasized Shell MIDEL’s differentiation as a next-generation transformer fluid. "It offers superior fire safety and environmental protection, making it an ideal choice for critical installations, densely populated areas, and sustainable energy projects," she stated.

This launch further strengthens Shell's portfolio, complementing its existing Shell Diala GTL range, and reinforces the company's commitment to providing advanced, eco-friendly solutions for the power industry.
