PT Shell Indonesia will no longer import lubricant products starting November of this year as the company?s new lubricant manufacturing plant in Marunda, Jakarta, will begin producing lubricants for the corporate market segment.
Kontan quoted Andri Pratiwa, Executive Vice President for Lubricant Sales at Shell Indonesia, as saying Monday that the US$168 million lubricant manufacturing facility has a production capacity of 120 million liters per year.
The facility actually has started production since August, but limited to serving the business to customers market segment. Shell is now looking to expand to the business to business market segment, particularly eyeing the infrastructure sector segment such as construction, cement, and steel. (*)
