Shell, Pertamina eyeing PLN?s HSD tender

PT Shell Indonesia, an Indonesian unit of Anglo-Dutch energy firm Royal Dutch/ Shell Plc voiced its interest in supplying high speed diesel (HSD) fuel to state electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), Sindo Daily reported on Friday.

The company?s public relations officer, Fathia Syarief said that Shell was capable of meeting PLN?s requirements to supply about one million kiloliter of HSD.

Meanwhile, state oil and gas firm PT Pertamina?s Vice President Communication Wisnuntoro said Pertamina was also interested to join the tender. ?We are ready to compete,? he said.

On Wednesday, PLN announced the tender for the procurement of about 1 million kiloliters of HSD to meet the fuel needs of its diesel power plants.

PLN said that the tender aims to fulfill the fuel needs of its power plants in Belawan of North Sumatra, Grati of East Java, Pontianak of West Kalimantan and Tanjung Batu of East Kalimantan from 2008 until 2010. (*)
