PT Shell Indonesia, an Indonesian unit of Anglo-Dutch energy firm Royal Dutch/ Shell Plc has again raised the prices of its high-octane gasoline following the increase in the prices of similar fuel products sold by state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina, Kontan reported Tuesday.

Beginning November 17, the prices of Shell Super and Shell Super Extra were raised to Rp 6,950 and to Rp 7,350 a liter respectively, while the price of Shell Diesel was raised to Rp 7,150 per liter.

In November 6, Shell lowered the prices of Shell Super, Shell Super Extra and Shell Diesel to Rp 6,250, Rp 6,650 and Rp 6,850 a liter, respectively, only less than two weeks after increasing the fuel prices in early October, as Pertamina maintained the prices of its high-octane fuels.

Shell's latest increase was made after Pertamina raised the prices of its high octane fuels in November 15 as an adjustment to the increase in fuel prices in the international market.

The price of Pertamax Plus was for example raised to Rp 7,150 per liter from Rp 6,400, while that of Pertamax Dex was raised to Rp 8,100 from Rp 7,500 per liter. (*)
