PT Shell Indonesia, an Indonesian unit of Anglo-Dutch energy firm Royal Dutch/ Shell Plc, has again raised the prices of its high-octane gasoline following the rise in crude oil prices in the world market, Kontan reported Monday.

Effective on Friday, the prices of Shell Super and Shell Super Extra were raised to Rp 7,750 (1US$= Rp 9,450) and Rp 8,150 per liter, respectively from Rp 7,500 and Rp 7,900 per liter, respectively.

The price of Shell Diesel was also increased to Rp 7,850 per liter from Rp 7,800 per liter.

Shell's spokesperson Fathia Syarif said that the price increase was needed to adjust to the rise in the prices of crude oil in the international market, and the fluctuation of rupiah against the U.S. dollar. (*)
