Shell to build distribution network, depot, fuel storage

Anglo-Dutch energy firm Royal Dutch Shell Plc is ready to build any infrastructure rquired by the government for the company to enter subsidized fuel retail business, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Thursday.

 

The company was ready to build distribution network, depots and storage facilities that are capable of holding fuel stock for 23 days of consumption in the government set them as requirements to enter the business, Country Chairman of PT Shell Indonesia Darwin Silalahi recently said.

 

He noted however that the company expected the government to set a clear regulation to creater a fair competition among retailers.

 

“The issue (regulation on subsidized fuel) will be a determining factor for the company's decision to enter the business. Make it clear, we would be glad to participate,” he said. (*).
