Shell to hike fuel price in November

Anglo-Dutch energy firm Royal Dutch/ Shell Plc through its Indonesian unit firm PT Shell Indonesia plans to raise fuel prices in early November of this year on the increase of oil in the world market.

 

Shell ’s spokesperson Fathia Syarif as quoted by Investor Daily said that the company management is now evaluating the fuel prices November to be adjusted to the world’s oil price which reached close to US$90 per barrel last week.

 

Fathia said that Shell used the Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPs) prices as a benchmark for setting the retail prices for fuels.

 

Currently, Shell octane super 92 is sold at Rp6,450 (US$=Rp.9,150) per liter, Shell octane super extra 95 at Rp 6,550 and Shell diesel at Rp 6,750 per liter.

 

Shell Indonesia has eighteen gasoline station in Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabotabek) area and further to increase the number of the gasoline stations to between 100 and 200 stations within the next few years.(*)
