Shell to open five more gas stations in Jakarta and Surabaya

PT Shell Indonesia, a subsidiary of oil giant Royal Dutch Shell Plc, will open five gas stations in Jakarta and Surabaya, East Java, in the immediate future, The Jakarta Post reported Wednesday.

Shell's public management consultancy manager Esto Sunarso told the reporters Tuesday that three of the stations would be in Jakarta and the other two in Surabaya.

One station will start operating on Jl. Fatmawati, South Jakarta, in the next one or two weeks, followed by the other two in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, and on JL Ahmad Yani, North Jakarta, later this month.

The two Surabaya stations will be opened on JI. Mayjen Sungkono and Jl. Ahmad Yani next month, he said.

As of December 2009, Shell operates 36 retail outlets in Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Tangerang-Bekasi (Jabodetabek) area and Surabaya, East Java. (*)
