Friday, October 6 2006 - 02:23 AM WIB

Royal Dutch Shell Plc will open three more gas stations in Jakarta ? Jalan Suprapto in Central Jakarta, Jalan Kyai Tapa, West Jakarta and Senen, Central Jakarta.

At present, 50 percent of the work at these three gas stations has already been completed and is expected to be opened by end of this year.

The opening of a gas station needs an investment of around $1 million. Currently, Shell has four gas stations at Lippo Karawaci, Tangerang, S. Parman in West Jakarta, Mampang Prapatan and Gatot Subroto both in South Jakarta.

?The main reason for opening (these) of Shell gas stations in Jakarta is that because Jakarta is the biggest market for non-subsidized fuel products,? Shell Companies Indonesia's business development manager Surinderdeep Singh said in Jakarta.

Shell has set a target of opening 400 gas stations in Indonesia in the next five years. (*)
