Siemens eyes re-powering of Muara Tawar and Tanjung Priok power plants

PT Siemens Indonesia is ready to undertake the re-powering projects of 150-200 MW Muara Tawar and 500-720 MW Tanjung Priok combined cycle power plants, Investor Daily reported Wednesday.

Siemens Indonesia was invited by state electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) to participate in the re-powering tender for the power plants, which is scheduled for November-December of this year.

"We will join Marubeni for Tanjung Priok combined cycle power plant while for Muara Tawar plant project, we will join Samsung, Fuji and BBS,? PT Siemens Indonesia?s general manager for power generation division Jochen Overberg said in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Siemens? major competitors in the upcoming tender would be Mitsubishi, China Electric and Alstom, he added.

At present Tanjung Priok plant has capacity about 1,300 MW and Muara Tawar 840 MW. (*)
