Siemens Indonesia is investing 5 million euros to upgrade machines and equipment in its factory in Cilegon, Banten, which is designed mainly to serve power generation industry.
"The expertise and high quality standards of this plant are our strength which enable us to get orders from Siemens AG's international projects," said Josef Winter, President Director of Siemens Indonesia, on Thursday.
Winter said the plant's capacity and quality will continue to be increased to strengthen its competence in the manufacturing of turbine components and other equipment for power generation projects.
The factory was set up in 1989, first as a repair shop of small scale steam and gas turbine components. Now, it supplies assembled components to be installed at turbines, generators and compressors at the main assembling plant in Germany.
