Siemens seeks to grab opportunities provided by 35GW projects in RI

Siemens, a global powerhouse in electronics and electrical engineering, is seeking to participate in the development of the 35,000 MW power plant projects in Indonesia as the company aims to expand its market in the country.

Armin Bruck, President & Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Pte. Ltd responsible for ASEAN countries, told Petromindo.com recently that while there is no specific target, his company will try to participate in every tender, offering its smart technology.

?We are of course glad with the program (35GW power projects), and definitely Indonesia needs power generation and also in the next step is transmission for distribution with smarter technology that we can provide,? Bruck said, on the side lines of Siemens? press trip in Singapore with the theme of How Digitalization Increases Competitiveness in Southeast Asia.

?We are trying to participate in every tenders of the 35 GW projects, although we are not setting up specific target, but we try to gain the project as much as possible, the more the better,? he added.

The current administration of President Joko Widodo has launched a 5-year program to develop a combined 35,000 MW power plants until 2019 to increase power supply in the country.

Bruck said that that Siemens can provide a complete range of products for power generation sector from high-tech large turbine to medium and small-scale technology.
