Sigma Energi spuds 1st CBM exploration well in C. Kalimantan

PT Uangel Sigma Energi, a coal bed methane (CBM) production sharing contractor announces the spudding of first exploration CBM well at Pulang Pisau block in Badirih village, Maliku sub-district of Pulang Pisau Regency, Central Kalimantan.

The company?s General Manager for Pulang Pisau CBM block told Petromindo.com that the spudding of the well was done on January 29. The drilling will last between 25 to 30 days.

He said the company plans to drill six core wells and three pilot wells over the next two years.

Earlier, H. Achmad Amur, Regency Head of Pulang Pisau, said that he expects the development of the CBM in the regency would help meet gas need of PLTU Pulang Pisau power plant.

Amur said there are a number of CBM spots to be drilled by the company in the Pulang Pisau Regency.
