Sigmagold to begin production next year

IDX-listed PT Sigmagold Inti Perkasa Tbk aims to start trial production at its gold concession in Bukit Tinggi, West Sumatra, in the first semester of next year, and commercial production in the latter part of the year.

Company Independent Director Adriano Wolfgan Pietruscha said on Wednesday that the company has recently obtained the ?clean and clear?s status for its concession.

?Our focus now is to operate the mine in 2015,? he said, but did not provide production target.

The company, previously known as PT Agis, which was engaged in electronics retail business, has begun diversifying into gold mining recently and hopes that the mining operation would account for up to 50 percent of the total revenue in the near future.
