PT Indonesia Power said that it would sign the new contract for the supply of coal to the Suralaya power plant in Banten in October this year, as initially scheduled.
Indonesia Power's operating director Achmad Sadikin said in Jakarta that the company had made a "final verification" on the companies that are bidding for the coal supply contract and found that all of the five bidders had met all the requirements to provide coal to the Suralaya power plant.
According to him, the prices offered by the five bidders are lower than Indonesia Power's price reference.
The five bidders are PT Risna Karya, PT Natuna Energi, PT Kasih Industri and PT Central Korporindo and PT Oktasan. Each of them bids for a contact to supply up to five million of coal per year to the 3,400 MW plant. The coal supply is expected to start in January. (dino)
