ASX-listed Sihayo Gold Limited announced Wednesday it has received ?initial approval? from the Director General of Mineral and Coal at the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for feasibility study of the Sihayo Pungkut gold project in North Sumatra.

The company said in a statement that the FS approval would be used as the basis to obtain environmental impact assessment (or better known as Amdal) approval from the Ministry of the Environment.

The two permits are requirements to be able to obtain construction permit for the Sihayo Pungkut gold project, run by PT Sorik Mas, in which Sihayo holds a 75 percent stake, while Indonesia?s mining firm PT Aneka Tambang Tbk holds the remaining 25 percent stake.
