Sillo Maritime to operate new FSO vessel in January

IDX-listed shipping firm PT Sillo Maritime Tbk, which provides offshore support vessels for the upstream oil and gas industry, plans to start operating its newly acquired floating storage offloading (FSO) vessel in January of next year, Kontan reported on Saturday.

The paper quoted Sillo Maritime Operation Director, Sumanto Hartanto as saying that the US$24 million FSO vessel will be utilized to implement a recently acquired six-year contract.

He said that the vessel has been leased by the client at daily rate of around Rp $25,000. He did not provide details about the contract.

Elsewhere, Sumanto said that the company plans to also acquire a new smaller vessel worth around $2 million, which will also be deployed next year.

He added that the company is preparing to participate in a number of contracts, hoping it could grab the new contracts in the first quarter of next year. He declined to provide details. (*)
