Simagold to begin trial production in third quarter

IDX-listed PT Sigmagold Inti Perkasa Tbk plans to hold trial production at its gold mining project in Bukit Tinggi, West Sumatra, in the third quarter of this year.

Company Independent Director Adriano Wolfgang Pietruscha told petromindo.com on Monday that the trial production and construction of new infrastructure facilities form parts of efforts for the company to obtain the so-called production operation mining business permit (or IUP OP) to allow for commercial production. ?Trial mining is scheduled in the third quarter,? Adriano said.

The company was previously known as PT Agis, which was engaged in electronics retail business. It started diversifying into gold mining two years ago, hoping that the mining operation would account for up to 50 percent of the total revenue in the future.
