Sime Darby wins contract from Indonesian gold miner

The companys?s Managing Director Chong Kwea Seng announced the deal with PT J Resources, which operates the country?s largest gold mine, at the Construction and Infrastructure Equipment Exhibition (CIEX) 2012 held from December 4th to 8th.
?Sime Darby Industrial also signed a separate memorandum of understanding (MoU) to deliver 60 units of heavy machinery valued at RM117 million until early next year,? he was quoted by Bernama.com as saying on Wednesday.
Sime Darby Industrial has been managing heavy equipment business of Caterpillar - the world's leading manufacturer of heavy equipment and power systems - in Malaysia since 1929.
"As the world's leading brand of heavy equipment and power systems, Caterpillar offers some of the most durable and robust machines available.
"In fact, in high-impact industries like mining and quarrying, metal fatigue is a big problem for our customers.
"But Caterpillar's eclectic blend of proven technologies and superior design result in the delivery of our customers' greatest need, lowest cost per ton," Chong told reporters on the sidelines of the CIEX 2012.
He said with the current operating landscape and Caterpillar's track record in the industry, the company was well poised to drive further growth in Malaysia.
CIEX 2012, themed "Technology", showcases more than 30 Caterpillar products and services, an array of technology services and systems as well as daily demonstrations.
Chong said at least 1,500 visitors are expected throughout the duration of CIEX 2012, which ends on Dec 8 at the Tractors Malaysia headquarters here. (*)
