East Kalimantan coal miner PT Sinar Kumala Naga (SKN) will increase production to 300,000 tons per month next year from the current 200,000 tons per month, a source told Petromindo.com Wednesday.

SKN?s coal output with calorific value of 4,200 kcal/kg (GAR) has been fully contracted to a Chinese buyer under a long-term agreement with a volume of 100,000 tons per month, the source added.

However, there is still room for new buyers for the company?s coal spec of 3,900 kcal/kg (GAR), also with a production volume of 100,000 tons per month.

Next year, the company plans to open up a new pit for the production of high CV coal, the source said, without disclosing the CV figure.

SKN operates a 2,649 ha coal mining concession in Kutai Lama, Anggana sub-district, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. The company started production in 2007.
