Singapore?s KTH on schedule to start mining activities in E. Kalimantan

In a presentation materials Tat Hong said KTH would invest total of S$10m (US$=S$1.65) for equipment to be operated in the project. The project is to carry out removal of overburden, extraction of coal and transportation of coal to a designated terminal in East Kalimantan.
KSM operates a 17,500-hectare coal mining concession in Kutai Kertanegera regency, East Kalimantan Province. The concession is believed to contain around 45.1 million tons of coal resources with calorific value between 7,152-8,224 kcal/kg.
KTH has been awarded a contract worth S$41 million over a period of 3 years by a Gunung Bayan Group company PT Kalimantan Citra Bara, KSM?s mining contractor and coal marketing agent.
KTH is a joint venture between Tat Hong (45%) and Kok Tong Construction Pte Ltd (55%).
Tat Hong will assist in the procurement and maintenance of all the equipment for the project while Kok Tong will provide the personnel and expertise to carry out the operations. (Robert)
