Sinochem Petroleum E&P (SPE) will conduct 2D seismic survey at the Madura PSC by the end of the year, about three years late from the initial plan, said upstream authority SKK Migas.

SKK Migas Head of Representatives for Java, Bali, Madura and Nusa Tenggara areas (Jabamusa) Agus Kurnia told petromindo.com that the survey was initially planned for 2010 but postponed until the end of this year due to non technical problems.

Agus did not elaborate.

According to its firm commitment, the company will carry out the survey on a total stretch of 300 km, to be followed by drilling on 5 exploration wells.

The Madura PSC is located onshore Madura Island, East Java, and covers a total area of 2,713 sq km. The PSC was awarded to Sinochem Petroleum E&P in November 2008.
