Sintra Sinarindo to produce power transformers

PT Sintra Sinarindo Elektrik is seeking to expand into power transformer production with a capacity of 60 MVA, Kontan reported on Friday.
The paper quoted Sintra Director Purnawan Widjaja as saying that the US$20 million transformer manufacturing plant will have a capacity of 50 units per year.
He said that the company has obtained request from state-owned electricity firm PT PLN for the supply of 14 units of 60 MVA power transformer in 2017.
Sintra currently manufactures distribution transformers with capacity of 20 MVA. Its facility has installed production capacity of 12,000 units per year.
Purnawan said going forward, the company plans to also manufacture transformers with capacity of 30 MVA. (*)
