Six firms submit bids to supply gas for PLN?s power plants

State owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has received bids from six companies for contracts to supply gas to power plants now under construction in central Indonesia as of Tuesday, May 19, 2015

According to a source, the six companies which have submitted the bid documents are:
1. Osaka Gas Co.Ltd
2. Consortium of Shell Gas & Power Development B.V and PT Energi Dian Kumala
3. Gas Natural SDG S.A
4. Consortium of PT Bukaka Teknik Utama Tbk, Tokyo Gas Co. Ltd., Mitsui & Co. Ltd.
5. PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk on behalf of Medco Consortium LNG Solution
6. PT PT Pertamina (Persero).

According to PLN?s Senior Manager of Primary Energy Planning and Evaluation Chairani Rachmatullah, the winner of the tender will be announced on July 2015.

The company earlier said it was seeking gas supply of between 100-230 mmscfd for 32 new power plants in various provinces in the central region of Indonesia that would come on stream in 2016 through to 2018. Of the total volume, 41 mmscfd is for 10 power plants with combined capacity of 450 MW in East Nusa Tenggara Province; 94 mmscfd for 14 power plants with combined capacity of 1,520 MW in Sulawesi, and 48 mmscfd for 8 plants with combined capacity of 561 MW in Kalimantan.

In the past April, PLN said 91 firms were interested to participate in the tender.
