Six solar power plants to be developed in NTB, Sulawesi

Six new solar power plants with combined capacity of 45 MW will be developed in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province and Sulawesi to help increase electricity supply in the regions.
Director of New and Renewable Energy at the Directorate General of New and Renewable Energy of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Maritje Hutapea said on Wednesday that the solar power plant projects will be located in Lombok, Gorontalo, and Minahasa.
?In NTB there will be four power plants, all in Lombok, each with capacity of 5 MW. And then in Sulawesi there will be two, one in Gorontalo with capacity of 10 MW, and another in Minahasa 15 MW. In total, there will be six,? she said.
She said that the planned projects have completed negotiation with state-owned electricity firm PT PLN over the tariff of the electricity in accordance with the formula set under the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation No 12/2017. ?Currently, it is waiting for the signature of the minister,? she said, bud did not provide further details about the projects.
