Six workers injured in Balongan gas accident

At least six workers involved in the construction of one of Pertamina's projects within the complex of the company's Balongan refinery plant in Indramayu, West Java were seriously injured on Wednesday due to an explosion of a nitrogen gas pipe in the project, Kompas reported on Thursday.

The daily said that the injured workers were taken to nearby hospitals following the accident. PT Yin, one of Pertamina's contractors in the so called Blue Sky project, said that the company would pay all medical cost of the injured workers.

Spokesman for Balongan refinery plant Suwandi said that the accident occurred when the workers were installing a nitrogen gas pipeline near the Balongan refiner plant. "The accident was caused by a human error," he said. (*)
