Tuesday, June 24 2003 - 02:01 AM WIB

Officials of upstream oil and gas authority BPMIGAS plan to meet with South Korea's refiner SK Corp. and steel maker SK-POSCO before the latter two decide on the winner of an LNG supply tender, a BPMIGAS official told Petromindo.com Tuesday.

The South Korean companies will decide on the winner on July 15, BPMIGAS marketing division head Joko Harsono said.

It is not yet clear when the BPMIGAS officials would hold the meeting with the South Korean officials.

Indonesian Tangguh LNG, which is operated by Anglo-American energy giant BP Plc, and Malaysia Tiga LNG, operated by Malaysia?s Petronas, had been shortlisted as final bidders to supply 1.1 million tons per year of LNG to South Korea.

Joko said that BPMIGAS held talks with the South Korean companies in Jakarta last week.

?Last week?s meeting turned out positive results. We will meet again to discuss various matters,? Joko said. He refused to elaborate. (godang)
