Upstream authority SKK Migas said it has yet to receive a request from PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) on the gas allocation from the MDA field in Madura Strait PSC, offshore East Java, managed by Husky Energy, but would definitely study the proposal once it is submitted.

?I?m a bit surpised to hear that as we have not received such request,? Deputy of Commercial Control Widhyawan Prawiraatmadja told petromindo.com Wednesday. But he added that SKK Migas would immediately process the request once it is formally received.

The request was first conveyed by Pertagas President Director Gunung Sardjono, saying the gas would feed its planned Gresik-Semarang gas pipeline. Widhyawan said the production potential from the MDA field would be less than 150 mmscfd.

The MDA field is one of the three shallow water fields Husky is currently developing. The other two fields are MBH and BD.

The MDA and MBH fields will be developed in tandem with a wellhead platform with initial production targeted as early as 2014.
